Grey
//Hiding in the shadows,
lurking in the corners.
//Never showing,
never seeing,
always vague and always mocking.
//Neither white nor black,
Trapping those who try,
to see what does go on,
in the border-world of grey.
Exams!
Oh no!
Exams are here!
Slogging through the night,
Revising after dark.
Moans and groans come from
every class in sight.

Worksheets, notes, assessments,
all flying through the air.
See the frantic pupil
chasing after them.
See the diligent student
hardworking till the end.
Yet there are some people
who just don't give a damn.
The Day arrives.
Everyone is quiet,
even jokers are subdued.
Watch the cheerful teacher
stepping through the door.
Handing out the papers,
tension rises.
The classroom is filled with quiet noises,
tapping of pens,
pens against paper.
Some are confident,
some are caught.
The bell rings,
the paper ends.
//Chatter of the pupils fill the room,
inquiring and answering.
Another round of moans and groans,
now punctuated by smiles and chuckles.
Exams are finally over,
and life goes on as normal.
